If only I listened to this years ago! It’s so hard to not let your mind wander especially when you have so much going on in your life.
My therapist asked me last session if I liked yoga. I responded with “I do, however I probably don’t get out of it what I should.” I enjoy the hour to myself and the movement leading to flexibility and strength, however the idea of shutting my mind off and focusing is really tough. She said that she hears that a lot from her patients with anxiety and depression. I have always been a thinker but as my anxiety and depression grew so did my negative thinking.
I am challenging you all this week to turn your frowns upside down and instead of thinking I can’t, think I CAN! Instead of thinking I should have done that, think I AM going to do that! Let’s be there for each other as we learn to STOP believing all of the negative and all of the toxic thoughts!
I’m taking the challenge too! This is not going to be easy. Keep talking about mental awareness!
