I came across this quote and at first read I said to myself that having your heath is so much more important than the money in your bank account. We’ve been hearing for the past few years that the food we eat has a direct implication on our health. Our body needs nutrients on a daily basis. One must find out more about the food one eats and eat right.

Wonder if you do eat well and you work out and you take all precautions by having yearly exams, but your health is taken away from you?

So yes, health is the real wealth however when you have your health jeopardized by a disease called cancer it’s hard to feel wealthy. Especially when you are literally not wealthy because of all of the bills being paid for treatment and surgeries.

Even years before cancer, I started working out more and trying to eat well. I switched to eating more organic - milk and meats - even though living in New York it was a little crazy to spend money like that. I have digestive issues so I thought it was best to start eating better (as much as I could in between my Subway lunches in New York City!)

Well it didn’t really matter that I was starting to eat right because I had the gene and was at a high risk for breast cancer. So…my motivation for today is to TALK! Talk to your family about your genetics and family history so that you are able to have your health. It’s so important to look into early detection and prevention. Now sometimes, I know that there isn’t a genetic predisposition and no family history which totally stinks. I hope we can get there in finding out more about those diagnosed with no warning.

I hope one day we can all be wealthy in health!
